Machu Picchu is one of the 7 wonders of the world most visited by tourists, it has beautiful stone-based constructions, which were carved with great precision and detail, it is the most important work for the Incas because it was built on a rugged mountain and inaccessible, divided into two large sectors, urban and agricultural, separated by a great wall that descends down the slope of the hill until it reaches the banks of the Vilcanota River.
DAY 1: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – OLLANTAYTAMBO
Discover the best of the Sacred Valley of the Incas through this route that begins at the Balcón del Inca, in Chinchero, a beautiful place with an impressive view, where twelve families still preserve their traditional customs and show us the ancestral way in which they process the wool, and the way they get those vivid colors for their textiles.
Later, we arrive at Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire and one of the few places where the Spanish conquerors lost a great battle, well known for its “andenes” (terraces built on the slopes of the mountains for agricultural). Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress, which also served as a temple. Then we continue to the town of Ollantaytambo, “the only living Inca city”: the best living example of Inca planning in a city, with narrow cobbled streets, that has been continuously inhabited since the 13th century.
DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU “SACRED CITADEL”
”You will visit one of the most important energy centers in the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion will be done by train and during the tour you will have an impressive view of the landscape of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will board the bus that will take you to the citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional guide will transmit the history that surrounds this mysterious and charming place. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the area on your own, relax or meditate. At the agreed time, they will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, they will board the return train. Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo station, you will be transferred to your hotel.
