The Colca Canyon is located in a river valley in southern Peru and is famous for being one of the deepest in the world. It is a famous destination for hiking. It is a habitat of the giant Andean condor, which can be seen from viewpoints such as the Cruz del Cóndor. The canyon landscape encompasses a green valley and remote traditional villages with terraced agriculture that predates the Incas. The Colca River is popular for rafting.
Day 1
We will begin our journey on the way to Yura to enter Pampa Cañahuas, where we can appreciate the herds of vicuñas and the back of the Chachani, Misti and Pichu Pichu volcanoes, entering the Pagodas where we can appreciate the geological formations of the area. To then stop at a restaurant where we will have lunch (on behalf of the Pax) we will continue to the bofedales where we will appreciate the large number of birds, both migratory and local, later we will arrive at the Mirador de los Volcanes, where the Cordillera del Chila and all the volcanoes can be seen. from the area, entering Chivay at approximately 1:30 p.m. Hotel accommodation. In the afternoon we will visit the thermal baths of La Calera where we will take a refreshing bath in Hot Springs (optional – does not include entrance to the baths). Overnight at the Hotel.
DÍA 2 : EXCURSIÓN POR DOS DIAS AL CAÑON DEL COLCA
Desayuno Por la mañana visitaremos la Cruz del Cóndor, donde apreciaremos el sobrevuelo de los cóndores y la profundidad del Cañón, para luego visitar los pueblos de Pinchollo, Achoma y Yanque y tendremos varias paradas en los principales miradores del Cañón, donde apreciaremos Colcas, Tumbas colgantes, Litomaquetas y otros., arribando a Chivay donde almozaremos (por cuenta del Pax) y luego iniciaremos nuestro retorno a Arequipa, para llegar aproximadamente a las 18.00 Hrs.
